Terms of Service

Dawg provides AI-generated dog-training coaching through conversational personas, grounded in a curated training knowledge base and personalized to the profile you provide about your dog. By using the app or this website, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Not veterinary care — read this

Dawg is a training and behavior coaching tool. It is not a veterinarian and does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If your dog shows signs of illness, injury, pain, sudden behavioral change, or has ingested something harmful, contact a veterinarian immediately — do not rely on the app. The coach is designed to refer you to a vet when it detects a possible medical issue, but that detection is not guaranteed. For behavior that endangers people or animals (such as bites), consult a qualified in-person professional.

2. AI-generated content

Coach responses are generated by AI. We engineer the coach to be grounded, calibrated, and honest — it is designed not to invent facts about your dog and to say so when it lacks a grounded answer — but AI output can still be incomplete, generic, or wrong. Use your judgment, especially regarding your dog's safety and welfare. Training outcomes vary by dog and are not guaranteed. Dawg promotes force-free, reward-based methods; you are responsible for applying any advice safely and humanely, and for complying with animal-welfare laws where you live.

3. Your account

The app creates an anonymous account on first launch; you may optionally attach an email and password. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials confidential. You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the service. Tell us right away at support@dawg.city if you think someone else has accessed your account.

4. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

Paid access is a single subscription: a 7-day free trial, then a flat monthly price shown in the app at purchase time. Billing is processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their terms; manage or cancel your subscription in your store account settings. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Unless required by law or by store policy, payments are non-refundable; refund requests are handled by the store. We may change pricing prospectively with notice — never retroactively.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: abuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or probe the service; attempt to extract our prompts, knowledge base, or models; use the service to generate content unrelated to dog training and care; resell or scrape the service; or use it in any unlawful way. We apply fair-use rate limits and may throttle or suspend accounts that exceed them or violate these terms.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you type. You grant us the limited license needed to operate the service — i.e., to transmit your messages and your dog's profile to our infrastructure and AI provider to generate responses (see the Privacy Policy for exactly what is and isn't stored). We do not use your conversations to train AI models.

7. Our content

The app, its design, coaching personas, knowledge base, and all associated intellectual property belong to us or our licensors. These terms grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose. The Dawg name and logo may not be used without permission.

8. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time (Profile → Delete account; deletion is permanent — see the account deletion page). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable. Sections that by their nature survive (1, 2, 6–11) survive termination.

9. No warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that coaching advice will achieve any particular training outcome.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service — including outcomes of applying training advice. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Governing law & disputes

These terms will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Dawg operating entity is registered. Our business registration is in progress; we will name the governing jurisdiction and venue here before paid subscriptions launch. Mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence applies where it cannot be excluded.

12. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date and, where appropriate, notified in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
